P0113 Intake air temperature sensor reads too cold
P0113 means: Intake air temperature sensor reads too cold. This sensor tells the engine computer how warm the incoming air is. OK to drive, but have it checked soon. The repair usually costs about €40–200 in Estonia. The most common cause: connector or wire. Other possible causes: sensor has failed, MAF sensor, if the temperature sensor is built into it.
What it means
This sensor tells the engine computer how warm the incoming air is. It is often built into the mass air flow sensor. Usually a connector is loose or a wire is broken. The sensor then reports very cold air.
What could be wrong
- 1Connector or wire
- 2Sensor has failed
- 3MAF sensor, if the temperature sensor is built into it
What you can check yourself
Check the sensor connector. You can keep driving, but fuel consumption may rise a little. You can do the simpler checks yourself.
How we fix it
- We compare the reading with the outside temperature
- We repair the wire or connector
- We replace the sensor
